Tax Law for Legal Entities in Costa Rica
The Legal Entities Tax Law (Law 9024), was published the last December 27th, 2011 on the official newspaper La Gaceta, y and shall come into force on April 1st of this year.

Approval of the Tax Reform in El Salvador.
Yesterday the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador approved to enter in force on January 2012, a tax reform which was proposed by El Salvador’s Department of Treasury. This reform aims to implement a number of regulations and amendments to the Income Tax Law and the Tax Code.

Transitory Law regulating company registrations and registration of premises in El Salvador
On November 8, 2011 the Transitory Law for the regulation of company registrations and registration of business premises in El Salvador came into effect. Which according to Article 1 of said decree, all social and individual traders will have the benefit of being exempt from any fees or penalties due corresponding to periods prior to 2011, none of which will have any effect during the term hereof.
Tax Reform Project in El Salvador
The Ministry of Finance introduced a project with a compilation of tax amendments on November 29th, 2011, whose aim is to implement a series of regulations and modifications to the Income Tax Law and the Tax Code. This reform’s aim is to raise the level of income tax. Among the tax modifications proposed, all people whose earnings are less than $503.47 monthly are exempt from paying taxes.
